Volunteer Opportunities

     Interested in helping out to restore He'eia Fishpond? Everyone is invited to help out every Saturday between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., except for the first Saturday of each month. There will be limited activities during Summer 2003 (staff professional development time). Please call to check on schedule of activities. Listed below are various volunteer activities that you could participate in:

  • Collect invasive limu
  • Plant native limu
  • Cut down mangroves and use as renewable resources
  • Reconstruct fishpond wall

     If you are interested in volunteering to participate in He'eia Fishpond restoration activities, please contact Mahina Paishon. Everyone is welcomed!

     Programs and tours are also available for school groups. Activities include learning about ancient Hawaiian fishponds, gaining insight on Hawaiian culture and environmental preservation, and taking part in Hawaiian language workshops.
